How the World Works: Grade 6 PYP Exhibition

On Friday, 3rd February 2017, all Grade 6 students participated in the Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition. The PYP exhibition represents an important event in the life of a primary school student. As the senior primary class, the PYP exhibition gives Grade 6 the opportunity to share their learning with the whole school community. It is also an opportunity for students to exhibit the attitudes and the learner profile characteristics that have been developed throughout their engagement with the Primary Years Programme.

Playing with Kak Han Jong Dae from South Korea

Grade 1 is currently exploring the unit under the transdisciplinary theme “Where We Are in Place and Time”. The central idea is Technology has changed how we play”. On, 13th January 2017, Grade 1 students had a great opportunity to meet  Kak Han Jong Dae, a student from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (South Korea) who is learning Indonesian, as a guest speaker about traditional games from his country. He shared three kinds of traditional korean games namely Baduk, Omok, and Alkagi. The students were very excited to play the games together.

Science is Fun: Grade 6 Excursion to PP-IPTEK

On the 8th of December, Grade 6 students went on an excursion to Pusat Peragaan  Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi (PP-IPTEK), TMII Jakarta. We are currently preparing for the PYP Exhibition, with the theme of How the World Works. The students have been working together to come up with the topic, related to their own interests and wonderings.
