PYP Exhibition: Through Small Actions, Everyone Can Make A Difference

On Wednesday, 30th May 2018, all Grade 6 students participated in the Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition. The PYP exhibition represents an important event in the life of a primary school student. As the senior primary class, the PYP exhibition gives Grade 6 the opportunity to share their learning with the whole school community. It is also an opportunity for students to exhibit the attitudes and the learner profile characteristics that have been developed throughout their engagement with the Primary Years Programme.

The exhibition unit this year took place under the transdisciplinary theme of “How We Organise Ourselves” with the tagline “Through Small Actions Everyone Can Make A Difference”. Students were engaged in a collaborative, transdisciplinary inquiry process that involved them in identifying, investigating and offering solutions to real-life issues or problems.
In the process, the students worked in groups and each group chose an issue of their interest. The issues included animals in danger, recycling, appropriate videos, simple robots, books, healthy foods, local products, shoe charity, educational event, recipes, business research, games, maths, online shopping, music, cyber bullying, educational games, fun bike and food presentation.

Through the PYP Exhibition, the students had demonstrated independence and responsibility for their own learning. They explored multiple perspectives, applied their earlier learning and demonstrated how they could take action as a result of their learning.
We thank all parties who had helped us throughout the journey: parents, PYP Coordinator, mentors, teachers, students and the whole school community. The journey to the PYP Exhibition had helped us understand ourselves better and strengthened our commitment to contribute to the society.
