Grade 1 students have just learnt about Mondrian style artwork. Piet Mondrian is known for being one of the pioneers of 20th century abstract art. Mondrian style artwork is characterised by the use of primary colours, as well as black and white. The composition involves rectangles and squares defined by horizontal and vertical lines.

It was a great opportunity for the first graders to learn about primary colours as well as 2D shapes. Creating artworks is definitely a great way to express ourselves and learning different styles from great artists gives inspiration to find our own styles. Great work, Grade 1!
