Our Preparation to Face the National Exam

For this second semester, Grade 12 students have been practising and rehearsing more intensively to prepare for the National Exam which is to be held at the beginning of April 2016. We completed the first Try Out from Pendidikan Nasional Kabupaten Bogor from 27th to 29th of January 2016. We reviewed the lessons and discussed with our teachers to find the best answer for each question. We are sure that by reviewing and rehearsing the lessons, we will understand the concept. There will be a second Try Out in February and the last one in March 2016. We hope we are all ready to face the National Exam and we will get the best results.

Teachers and Staff Working Meeting 2016

At the beginning of this month, all teachers and supporting staff attended the annual working meeting at Wisma Abdi Puncak in Bogor. The meeting lasted for two days and gave teachers and staff the opportunity to develop the school system. Moreover, they also had the opportunity to refresh their understanding about the school’s vision and mission.

Cooking Food From North Sumatra

In this second semester, we had Design Technology lessons a few times. We made food and drinks from all across the islands and provinces of Indonesia. We made food from North Sumatra, Riau, and Lampung. The last meal we made was lamb with curry. It was absolutely a new amazing experience for most of us, since it was our first time.

Acid Base Experiments with Red Cabbage Indicator

On 19 & 21 January 2016, Grade 11 students had a chemistry practical activity which was making a natural acid-base indicator using red cabbage. An indicator is a substance which color varies according to the concentration of hydrogen ions. It can be an acid or a base. In this chemistry practical activity, we used some tools and materials: pan, knife, beaker, spoon, red cabbage, water, filter paper, vinegar, and distilled water. Here are the steps. First, we cut the cabbage and boiled it in the water until the water became purple. Then, we put some pieces of paper into the water and then we dried them until they became indicators.
