Pre-Kindergarten Parent Presentation: “Four Little Pigs and Two Hungry Wolves”

On Friday, April 8th, 2016, Pre-Kindergarten students held a parent presentation in the form of role play with the title “Four Little Pigs and Two Hungry Wolves”. They presented what they have learnt in the third unit of inquiry, with the central idea “Animals and people interact with each other in different ways”. Parents and other ECC classes were invited to watch the performance.

Singapore School Trip 2016

On 13th – 15th April 2016, Grade 7 students of Sekolah Pilar Indonesia went on a school trip to Singapore. We departed from Soekarno Hatta International Airport at 6.10 in the morning and arrived at Changi at 8.40. We directly started a city tour guided by a native guide from Singapore.

Our Visit to “Bobo Magazine”

On 13th of April 2016, Grade 4 students went on an excursion to Bobo Magazine, which is located in Kebon Jeruk – East Jakarta, to learn more about media. They are currently exploring a unit under the transdisciplinary theme How We Express Ourselves, with the central idea “People can create or manipulate messages to target specific audiences.”

Bela Negara Camp 2016

Biennially, Sekolah Pilar Indonesia joins a Bela Negara Camp, in cooperation with Skadron Pendidikan (Skadik) 105 Kaliurang, Yogyakarta. This year, it was attended by Grades 10 and 11 students. The programme lasted for 8 days, from the 12th until 19th April 2016. Bela Negara Camp is an important acitivity emphasizing the prime values of Sekolah Pilar Indonesia: to be independent, highly-principled and to appreciate diversity. Through this programme, it was expected that the students were capable of being responsible and making good choices and decisions for themselves, including organizing time wisely, taking care of their belongings, making priorities, being responsible for their own learning, carefully considering the options they have before making decisions and being confident with the decisions taken.
