Grade 3 students are currently exploring a unit under the transdisciplinary theme “How the World Works”. As the introduction to the second line of inquiry: “How society takes advantage of the properties of materials”, the students inquired into the concepts of changing states of matter, magnetism, solubility, viscosity, heat conductivity and electrical conductivity through simple experiments.

At Sekolah Pilar Indonesia, we hold an annual Student-Led Conference (SLC) as part of our assessment of students’ learning. Students from Pre-K to 12 gather samples of their school work together to compile a portfolio. As students gather evidence of their learning, they reflect on this learning, review their goals for the semester and get ready to discuss their progress with their parents.
