Learning about Celebrations and Traditions

“Celebrations and traditions are part of our shared beliefs and values” was the central idea of our first unit of inquiry. In this unit, the students have learned about different kinds of celebrations and traditions around the world. They gained information by watching videos, reading materials and conducting research about celebrations and traditions.

Taking Responsibility for Own Learning

Three-Way Conferences for students in the Early Childhood Centre (ECC) until High School were held on the 3rd and 4th October 2016. During this important event, the students had an opportunity to explain their learning through the samples of work, kept in portfolios. Beforehand, the students prepared their work samples, as well as reflections on their learning.

Grade 2 Students Exploring How People Learn

Grade 2 students are currently exploring a unit under the transdisciplinary theme of Who We Are. The central idea is “People learn in many ways”. On 20th September 2016, Grade 2 students had a tuning in session. When we unpacked the unit, some students were able to mention four learning ways: reading (verbal intelligence), watching (visual intelligence), sharing ideas (interpersonal intelligence) and dancing (bodily-kinesthetic intelligence).
