Student Exchange Programme – Activities on the Second Day

This morning, a Welcome Assembly was held to officially welcome the teachers and students of Le Fevre High School. The assembly was opened by the speech from Bapak Hasan Basri, the Principal of the Senior High School, as well as by the Management Board, Bapak Iwan Kresna Setiadi. Ibu Sarah Craddock from Le Fevre High School also delivered her speech and pointed out how grateful she was that both Le Fevre High School and Sekolah Pilar Indonesia are very committed to foster cooperation in the education and intercultural understanding.

The students of Sekolah Pilar Indonesia and Sekolah Insan Prima performed traditional dances and songs to welcome their friends from Australia. Jack Jablonski, a student from Le Fevre High School also performed his skills in playing piano and reading poems. After the assembly, the students from Sekolah Pilar Indonesia and Le Fevre High School played some Indonesian traditional games and had a school tour.

In the afternoon, the students joined the Management Board and the teachers to visit Pondok Pesantren Daarul Musthofa, to witness the opening ceremony of Taman Ilmu, a library dedicated to the children in the local community. Sekolah Pilar Indonesia has been supporting Pondok Pesantren Daarul Musthofa. Hand in hand, both institutions work together in the educational field, to provide good quality education and to empower the local community.
