ECC Excursion to Sea World, Ancol

On the 29th of November 2016, ECC students and teachers went on an excursion to Ancol Sea World and Ancol beach, which is located in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Jl. Lodan Timur No. 7 – North Jakarta, to deepen our understanding about sea animals and habitats. Kindy and Reception students are currently exploring a unit under the transdisciplinary theme Sharing the Planet, with the central idea "Living things needs sea to survive" for Kindy Class, while the central idea for the Reception Class is "When interacting with natural habitats, humans make choices that have an impact on other living things."

At Sea World, they saw so many kinds of living things which lived under the sea and also asked so many questions to the guide. The students learnt that sea is a home for various living things which are also important to people. Then, they watched a short movie about sea turtle’s life cycle. From that movie they learnt about how living things respond to the changing environment.

Next, we headed to Ancol beach to clean up the beach. There, together we collected the rubbish then we put it in the trash bin. We learnt a lot from this excursion. We understand that natural habitat is very important for other living things and for us.
