Siswa Kindergarten dan Reception Berlatih Kerja Sama Melalui Permainan

Beberapa waktu lalu, siswa Kindergarten dan Reception melakukan kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk memupuk kerja sama kelompok, melalui berbagai permainan, dalam pelajaran Unit of Inquiry (UOI). Mereka berdiskusi tentang strategi yang akan digunakan dalam permainan-permainan tersebut. Seru sekali ya!

Reception Mini-Exhibition 2018

Reception students of Sekolah Pilar Indonesia have conducted their mini-exhibition as the last big project in the Early Childhood Centre under the transdisciplinary theme “Sharing the Planet”, on March 2nd, 2018. They focused on the central idea “Farms produce food for people”. They have prepared their projects collaboratively with their parents for about one month. They shared what they have researched to the parents and school community (Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2 students, as well as the teachers).

ECC Excursion to Allianz Ecopark - Ancol

"Rain, rain, go away! Come again another day. Little children want to play. Rain, rain, go away!"

Under heavy rain, on 15th February, ECC (Early Childhood Centre) students were so excited wearing their raincoats and sandals. They were ready to have an adventure at Allianz Ecopark Ancol. ECC Sekolah Pilar Indonesia has been learning about Farm, Animals and Plants under the transdiciplinary unit “Sharing the Planet”. They have explored different kinds of plants and farm animals and how to take care of them, the use of animals and plants, and how farms work.

Cimory, Here We Come!

On 4th May 2017, Kindy students had the opportunity to explore more on how “Food is transported and processed before it is consumed” under the transdiscplinary theme of “How We Organize Ourselves” by visiting Cimory Riverside Dairy Farm in Cipanas. We were all very enthusiastic about the trip!

Reception Students Expressing Themselves through Stories

“Reading is a journey, not a level. It’s a discovery, not a test score. It’s a way to get lost and a way to get found” - Kylene Beers

This proverb reminds us on the wonderful journey that we can experience from reading. In the Early Childhood Centre (ECC) of Sekolah Pilar Indonesia, Reception students enjoyed a great time exploring a unit with the central idea “Stories can engage their audience and communicate meaning” under the transdisciplinary theme “How We Express Ourselves”. We read some traditional and modern stories to get an understanding about the elements of stories. We interpreted stories through role plays and puppet shows. To deepen our understanding on creating a good story, we invited a guest speaker, Ibu Resty, a managing editor of a company called trivia.id. We got many insights from this session too.
