Measuring Velocity and Acceleration

Recently, Grade 10 (Science Class) did some experiments in Physics. We explored a way to measure the velocity and acceleration of a certain moving object. We did three experiments to measure the acceleration of a toy car going upwards, downwards, and a trolley going straight. We prepared our tools and materials before starting the experiments. You know what they say, always be prepared! We wore our lab coats, tied up our hair and we were ready to work!

Term 1 Three-Way Conferences

On the 16th and 17th October 2014, Sekolah Pilar Indonesia held Three-Way Conferences (Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences). It was a very important event for the three parties involved, in which the students were given an opportunity to explain their learning through their portfolios. The students had prepared the work samples they wanted to put in their portfolios, as well as the reflections on their learning in the first term. They had also practised giving a presentation in the conference format.

Sekolah Pilar Indonesia's Newest International Partnerships

This last week on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th of October, Pak Iwan and Ibu Trias visited several schools in Canberra, Australia. Canberra is the capital city of Australia and the place in Australia where diplomats from all over the world congregate.

While visiting Canberra, Sekolah Pilar Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with one of the most well-established schools in Australia, Telopea Park School.  Telopea Park School is a Lycee Franco-Australien de Canberra but Indonesian is also taught at the school. Being bilingual and using other languages  is a part of the school culture. Telopea Park School is also an IB World School and is authorized to teach the Middle Years Programme.
