Grade 7’s First Cooking Experience at School

On Thursday and Friday, 20th and 21st of August, Grade7 Wellington and Istanbul students had a cooking project in Design Technology (DT) lesson. The cooking project was about making bread. Ibu Mercy, our DT teacher, divided us into several groups, then she gave us the list of ingredients to bring, and we also discussed with our own group about what kinds of topping we would put on the bread.

People Learn in Many Ways

Grade 2 students are currently exploring a unit under the transdisciplinary theme of Who We Are. The central idea is “People learn in many ways”. In the tuning in phase, Grade 2 students visited several different stations. The students were divided into groups and visited eight stations which were set up based on multiple intelligences.

Grade 9 Manchester’s Design Technology Project: Telur Asin

On 20th August 2015, Grade 9 Manchester students completed their Design Technology (DT) Project. They made some food that can be eaten with rawon. Can you guess? Of course, it’s telur asin. Before doing the project, Ibu Mercy, our DT teacher divided the students into groups of three. Decisions then needed to be made about who would bring the materials. The materials needed to make the Telur Asin were so inexpensive and so easy to find.  To make telur asin you need a duck egg, sponge, rock salt, bricks, abu gosok and water. You could get abu gosok for only Rp 2,000,00 for each container consisting around 200 grams.
