Last Tuesday, the 19th of May 2020, Sekolah Pilar Indonesia had a great opportunity to invite Bapak Pierson Tambunan and his two sons, Matthew and Jayson, to share their experiences online, about living in Canada. The family moved around nine months ago, to support Bapak Pierson Tambunan who is currently pursuing his Post-Degree Diploma. Matthew and Jayson were former students of Sekolah Pilar Indonesia and are currently studying at Langley Secondary School, Canada.

Adapting to new situations and changes can be a challenge. It takes strength and commitment to progress and face the challenges ahead. Luckily, for the family of Bapak Pierson Tambunan, the adaptation process of living in Canada could be quite easy, since both of his sons, Matthew and Jayson Tambunan have had experiences in Indonesia that helped them adapt to a new environment.

Hi everyone! We hope you’re doing well and are happy and healthy. We want to share some pictures of gardening activities before the we started Pilar Distance Learning. We know you miss gardening.

Through these activities, Early Childhood Centre, grades 1 and 2 students learnt many skills. They observed the plants, found out how plants grow well and how to harvest them. They learnt to appreciate the work of farmers by learning the process involved. It was really good to see them excited about finding out more.

Well done, students! We hope we can garden soon and work collaboratively to take care of the plants!
